Captain Frederick William Hunt

Captain Hunt MemorialThe original memorial of the late Captain Frederick William Hunt was dismantled in the 1960’s after it was considered unsafe.
The remains of the large cross were put into safe storage until such a time when the Heritage Society were able to raise funds to re-instate a new memorial.
The Hunnaball Family Funeral Group is proud and honored to have been asked to assist with this venture. Our highly skilled Stonemason was able to incorporate parts of the original memorial together with new Granite and modern technology and create an impressive, contemporary and very fitting tribute to Captain Frederick William Hunt.
It was always the intention of the Society to re-dedicate the new memorial in 2014 as part of the World War One Centenary and a dedication service was held on 31st October. It was attended by members of the Heritage Society, The British Legion, representatives of the Hunnaball Family Funeral Group and members of Captain Hunt’s family.
