Headstones, monuments and memorials in Essex and Suffolk

At Hunnaball Memorials, we understand that a headstone is a lasting monument and a tribute to a person’s life, perhaps a final gift to someone dearly loved, so it is important to choose it carefully.

With our own in-house memorial department, serving all our branches in Essex and Suffolk, we are able to guide friends and family, offering choices and solutions for the creation of a lasting memorial for the deceased.  We are able to supply all types of memorials and carry out all the formalities with cemetery and church authorities on your behalf.

We offer a range of elegant and distinctive memorials in traditional and contemporary designs, fashioned by hand from the finest granite, limestone and marble. All of our branches display a selection of Hunnaball memorials, made from the many materials available, showing the quality of our workmanship.

Our workshop is fully equipped with the latest machinery and using the most modern techniques. Our skilled craftsmen enable us to retain the traditional values of stonemasonry, using exceptional materials to achieve a whole range of finishes, so that we can offer an option to suit every taste.

Hunnaball Memorials are members of the National Association of Monumental Masons and the British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons and adhere to their regulations at all times, ensuring that our memorials are erected to the highest current safety standards set.

Types of headstone or memorial

There are a number of different types of headstone or memorial depending on whether you are looking for a memorial for cremated remains, or after a burial in a cemetery or churchyard. We also provide a maintenance and restoration service, as well as a few additional products which require a stonemason.

If, following a cremation, you do not wish to inter the cremated remains, you will still have quite a range of options from which to choose. Even if you choose to inter the majority of the cremated remains, you might decide to keep back a small quantity in order to create a special keepsake. Our dedicated urns and keepsakes page gives more details of the possibilities. Please click here to read more.

Help and advice

If you have never chosen a memorial before, or even if you have, the array of choices can seem quite daunting. We are very pleased to help you to make the right choice, reflecting the person you have lost and ensuring that their memorial is a place that you will want to visit, bringing comfort and hope in the coming years. It is necessary for the ground to settle following a burial or interment, and this allows you several months to consider carefully and be confident that you have made the best choice.

Please be assured that, even if you did not arrange your friend or relative’s funeral through us, we are happy to welcome and advise you on your choice of memorial. You can contact our memorials department directly, or talk to a Hunnaball funeral arranger in the first instance – whichever you feel most comfortable with.

Our memorial advisors will guide you to the most appropriate choice. You will find that in some instances, rules will apply – for example, churchyards do not permit the full range of memorials that are accepted in cemeteries. Or you may wish for a stone suitable for the interment of cremated remains, rather than a burial. We can help you decide on an appropriate memorial for a fitting, permanent tribute.

To contact us for help and advice, please call 01206 794747, email memorials@hunnaball.co.uk or talk to your funeral arranger.
